Jill Radesca
President
Jill is a senior BBP at Stony Brook University’s School of Nursing. She is honored to be working on the 2024-2025 Board of Directors as President and is thrilled to collaborate with this group of leaders in furthering the success of SBSNA.
Jill joined the SBSNA BoD initially to get more involved in our program. She was incredibly grateful to be here and wanted to make the most of it. She learned an incredible wealth of knowledge and leadership, teamwork, and time management-all important skills for nursing. Jill loves how SBSNA creates the opportunity to make change to benefit our students.

Jill was inspired to pursue nursing because of her mom. Her mom went back to school when she was three to become a nurse. Jill didnt know what a nurse was back then, but knew her mom was her role model and she had a deep passion for it. As Jill pursued nursing herself, she found the profession aligned deeply with her love for science, her calling to care for others and a need for a career that will always foster growth and learning.

In her spare time, Jill loves to weight train and cook healthy meals! She current has 19 houseplants and 2 kittens she loves to take care of, and spends time with her friends and family when she can

One fun fact about Jill is that she used to sing opera.

After graduation, Jill plans to pursue a fellowship in critical care. She has had the opportunity to complete an externship in the MICU at SSUH and partake in the Northwell Clinical Partnership where she was in LIJMC's CTICU. She loves critical care for how it challenges her knowledge and skills.

Her advice for incoming students: "TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!!! No grade is worth sacrificing your physical and mental health. See your friends and family, workout, eat well and care for yourself in anyway that works best for you".
